What’s the deal with the name?
We coined the term The Ripenists because we couldn’t find words that adequately described ourselves and the stage of life we’re at. Because we didn’t like the labels on offer we decided to invent our own. We’re also playing with The Ripenist Lexicon – if you have some further suggestions let us know here!
Why the Passionfruit?
It grows abundantly where we live and it’s beautiful in all its stages. When it’s at its ripest, the passionfruit is wrinkly on the outside. That’s also when it’s at its most delicious.
The pics below are from Kate’s garden.
As a source of inspiration we likened ourselves, in midlife, to the deliciousness of a ripe passionfruit.
Have you checked your spelling lately?
Ah … two options here – 1) you’re from a part of the world that doesn’t use the Queen’s English or 2) you’ve spotted a typo – in which case please let us know.
You’ll also notice a difference when you hear us on podcasts and videos, as to some ears we sound a bit funny too.
Can you give me some quick advice on …?
Do ask us; we may well answer your question in an upcoming blog post or podcast
